Philippine National Retail Staple-Food Benchmark (PSA) — the Iloilo retail-survey gap stated
PSA national retail price-situationer averages for staple foods, in pesos per kilo (or per litre), used as a benchmark on the Iloilo data console. These are NATIONAL averages, not Iloilo prices: PSA does run an Iloilo-City retail survey, but it is reachable only through PSA OpenSTAT (HTTP 403 to automated retrieval) and a banned aggregator, so the Iloilo/Region VI retail basket is published here as a stated gap rather than estimated.
Read this before citing a figure
NATIONAL, NOT ILOILO. Every price in this dataset is a PSA NATIONAL retail average (early August 2026), not an Iloilo City or Region VI price. PSA does collect an Iloilo-City retail survey ("Retail Price of Selected Agricultural Commodities: Region 6: Iloilo City"), but it is reachable only through PSA OpenSTAT (HTTP 403) and the banned aggregator CEIC; DA-6 Bantay Presyo publishes Iloilo prices only on Facebook. So the Iloilo/Region VI retail basket is a documented GAP. Do not read these as Iloilo prices and do not derive an Iloilo figure from them.

Provenance & limitations
Source. PSA national retail price situationer (early August 2026), via The Manila Times . Method. Transcribed from the PSA national retail price situationer as reported by a named primary outlet (The Manila Times), dated to the reference period. National retail averages only; Iloilo-specific figures a primary source does not publish are left as a stated gap, never derived.
Known limitations — published as a feature, not a footnote:
- National averages, not Iloilo — a household in Iloilo may pay more or less at the palengke or supermarket.
- The Iloilo-City / Region VI retail survey could not be primary-sourced (PSA OpenSTAT 403; only mirror is a banned aggregator; DA-6 Bantay Presyo is Facebook-only), so it is a documented gap.
- One reference period on record; a longitudinal series begins at the next situationer seeded.
