Iloilo Water Tariff (MPIW) — two-tranche basic rate, with the published minimum-charge gap

The Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW) residential basic rate per cubic metre across the two LWUA-approved tranches of November 2025 and March 2026, the first MIWD increase in six years. The current 0–10 cu.m. minimum charge is published here as null, because no source publishes one and it cannot be derived from the basic rate. That gap is part of the dataset, not an omission from it.

PUBLISHED GAP — minimum_for_10_cu_m_php is null for the current 2026-03 tranche. No primary or secondary source publishes MPIW's post-March-2026 minimum charge, and it is NOT derivable: the published Tranche-1 minimum is ₱252.02 against a ₱25.20/cu.m. rate, so the minimum is not a clean ten-times multiple and rate × 10 invents a charge MPIW has never billed. A figure of exactly that shape (₱286.70) was removed from the ledger on 2026-07-12. Do not fill this cell. The 11–20 and 21–30 cu.m. tiers are likewise absent: MPIW publishes them only in a stale 2018 image.

Provenance & limitations

Source. SunStar / LWUA-approved MPIW tranche schedule . Method. Transcribed from the LWUA-approved MPIW tranche schedule as reported by named primary regional sources (SunStar Iloilo, Philippine News Agency), dated to the effective month. One row per tranche. Figures no source states are left null rather than derived.

Known limitations — published as a feature, not a footnote:

  • No current 0–10 cu.m. minimum charge exists in any source, so this dataset publishes none. A Philippine water bill is built on that minimum, which means these rows do not add up to a monthly bill.
  • The 11–20, 21–30 and higher consumption tiers are published by MPIW only as a stale November 2018 image and are not seeded here.
  • The ₱28.67/cu.m. rate reaches the public record only through named secondaries. MPIW's own posted "latest approved tariff schedule" is still the 2018 sheet and the MIWD water-rates page is an empty stub.
  • The two-tranche schedule is complete — there is no Tranche 3 — so the next point is a new adjustment, not a scheduled one.
  • Service area is the Iloilo City core plus Maasin, Cabatuan, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, Oton, Pavia and Leganes. Residential only; commercial and bulk rates differ.
